Death Doula
Ars Moriendi Death Doula Class 2026
Death Doula Services
Death is something that everyone experierences but few people are prepared for. With death moving from predominantly being in the home to the hospital in the 1950s, family members are no longer taught how to care for the dying. Death Doulas are growing in popularity as a solution to the unfamiliarity with the death process.
Ars Moriendi Services will increase death preparedness, education and in-person support in the community through Death Doulas. We provide a training program that is based on the award winning Abode End-of-Life Doula Certification course and hope to provide volunteer doulas to provide care and resources for community members approaching the end-of-life.
The Inaugural Death Doula Certification course started June 2026 and will conclude in fall of 2026. Scholarships are available for Ars Moriendi Services volunteers. Join our mailing list to stay up to date on the next class offerings.
Interested in working with an End-of-Life Doula?
Whether death is around the corner or you are healthy and interested in exploring your own end-of-life wishes and getting them documented, we would love to hear from you! Doulas are expert listeners, compassionate companions and educated assistants. They are non-medical support for the hospice patient and a creative companion for the older person in assisted living.
Doulas provide: companionship, education, balanced life review discussions, legacy project assistance, administrative guidance, life tribute assistance, vigil support and more.
Our doula students and instructors are ready to come work with you!
If you are willing to have a doula come work with you, contact us via text or phone at 540-369-6019 or email at admin@amshome.org
